This resource provides a wonderful method to introduce students to Antarctica. If your students are like mine, they know little to nothing about Antarctica and have many misconceptions like the students described in the introduction of the article. By comparing the Arctic and the Antarctic, using the many online resources available to the Antarctic, and finally comparing the Antarctic to another location at a different latitude, students gain a better appreciation and understanding of the importance of our Southernmost continent. This resource will be an engaging introduction to an unit my biology students learn about research done in Antarctica.
