After reading this article, I'm glad to see that teachers are addressing the crucial aspect of scientific literacy and introducing it to students as soon as possible. The methods proposed in this article are clearly stated, with examples that are well written. I was really intrigued by last method in which the students create their own "ABC book" of terms for the unit. This method allows the students to really connect with material as they get to use their imagination and creative thinking to connect to the terms of the unit.
