Citizen Science: Prepare an Ant Picnic for Science

This column highlights formal and informal science research projects that students can join and contribute to by gathering and sharing data. Ant Picnic is a global citizen science project that invites teachers and students to engage in myrmecology, the study of ants, to explore ant food preferences around the world. Students will explore the diet preferences of ants by preparing and setting out food baits, counting the number of ants present, and categorizing their findings.
