The International Task Force

NSTA President Anne Tweed has established the International Task Force, led by Dr. Michael Padilla, President-Elect. The first meeting of the International Task Force will be November 6 at the Indianapolis Area Convention. It is the charge of the task force to investigate and recommend a strategic plan in support of an enhanced international role for NSTA.

The committee will develop goals, outcomes, and activities that will enhance the NSTA mission statement—"to promote excellence and innovation in science teaching and learning for all"—within an international context. Although the task force is still in the planning stages, some proposed activities include supporting networks and partnerships as part of NSTA's position internationally; identify and propose collaborative relationships between NSTA and other internationally minded organizations; and propose initiatives that will establish NSTA’s leadership in international science education.

The members of the task force are:

President-Elect Michael Padilla, Chair, University of Georgia
Past President Hans Andersen, Indiana University
Laura Arndt, Nature Connections, Colorado
George Dawson, Florida State University
