Scientists and Engineers Are OBSERVANT (Grades 3–5)

by: Donna Farland-Smith and Julie Thomas

In this lesson, students learn that scientists and engineers are observant. They read about primatologist Jane Goodall in the book Jane Goodall’s Life With the Chimps. After reading, they observe crickets and discover how crickets move and communicate. This selection highlights the practice of planning and carrying out investigations, and it includes the Table of Contents, Foreword, Acknowledgments, About the Authors, and Index.
