How exciting to read about the first Hispanic woman to fly on a mission in space aboard a shuttle. Reading the interview reveals how she became an astronaut, what her job entails, and how to prepare for such a career. The article written in 2005 could not imagine that these careers would come to an end in 2011. However, she writes about the experience that stood out the most for her. It is a great piece for young Hispanic girls to read.
