Should Science Be Included in AYP? NSTA Express Readers Speak Out By an almost two-to-one margin, NSTA Express readers told us they think science assessments should be included in Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP). The survey was taken in response to the NSTA Legislative Update in the May 31 NSTA Express about legislation key members of Congress have introduced, which would amend No Child Left Behind (NCLB) to require that science assessments be counted in state and school accountability measures.
