Users begin with
the Teacher login, then access a link called the "SciLinks
Assignment" tool. From that link, teachers connect to a form
that captures the relevant SciLinks code, identifies the
student(s) who will receive the assignment, and determines
the type of questions the teacher will send. Teachers may
create up to five general questions or a single question for each
specific Web page found via the SciLinks code. The assessments
feature questions requiring only brief responses, so students will
need to explain their answers in their own words. When students
log in, they will see a link titled "View your SciLinks assignments," from which they
can visit the targeted web pages for each assigned SciLinks code,
view teachers' questions, and submit their answers.
A comprehensive
Teacher's Workbook, which contains records for each student registered
under the teacher's name, tracks all assignments and indicates the
status of each assignment with bright red (incomplete) and green
(completed) icons.
