NSTA Offers Online and Mail Ballot Options for 2003 Board and Council Elections

The 2003 NSTA Board and Council Elections have taken a technological turn for the better for our members. You now have the opportunity to vote for the 2003 Board and Council either by ballot or online using your membership number and a ballot tracking code. Complete voting instructions were included in the paper ballots that were mailed to NSTA members the week of December 16th, 2002.

While online voting is a convenient method for many members, those wishing to vote by mail ballot can still do so. Deadline for receipt of ballots is February 8, 2003. Election results will follow shortly after the deadline. If you have any questions, simply contact Lori Pinson l_pinson@nsta.org.

If You Thought the Saga of the Northern Snakehead Was Intriguing…

Remember last summer's fascinating fish story about the northern snakehead released into a Maryland pond and the efforts made to halt its proliferation? Invasion Ecology, a newly published NSTA Press® title—in teacher and student companion versions for grades 9-12—can help you teach about and explain the fascinating science involved in dealing with invasive animal and plant species. To learn more about these new books in the NSTA Press Cornell Scientific Inquiry Series, click here http://store.nsta.org/searchBasic.asp?searchTerm=Invasion+Ecology.

What Is a SciLink?

SciLinks® is an interactive, Web-based service that connects your lesson and/or course materials (textbooks, supplemental titles, and journal articles) with online content chosen just for your selected topics. Simply type in your keyword or phrase, and you will receive a list of teacher-approved Internet resources. Best of all, SciLinks saves you and your students time when searching the Web for learning extensions. The next time you’re reading your NSTA journal or an NSTA Press® publication, watch for the SciLinks® logo in the margins. It will point you to an Internet link that will help you find more information on the topic you’re reading about.

Now you can take a SciLinks tour www.scilinks.org/tour online! Not a member? Join today https://ecommerce.nsta.org/membership/apply.asp to take advantage of this exclusive offering!
