They're Here: A Coast-to-Coast Investigation of Invasive Species

In the September 2005 issue of Science Scope, we explored the world of invasive plant species (Audet 2005). According to the National Invasive Species Council, an invasive species is defined as a species that is (1) nonnative (or alien) to the ecosystem under consideration, and (2) whose introduction causes or is likely to cause economic or environmental harm or harm to human health.

Through a variety of experiences, students learn about diversity, interdependence of organisms, the relationship of organisms to their environment, and environmental responsibility.

Plant the Seeds of Knowledge
