Linking the Classroom to the Community

Youth Network for Healthy Communities (YNHC) is a teacher-driven project in Washington State in which students research environmental health issues in their communities and present their findings to other students throughout the state via videoconferencing. Through YNHC, students make connections between health and the environment, discover how science is an integral part of their lives, and take action for their communities’ health.
