A Flight Simulator Program Takes Off

Science and Children (October 2003)

Aviation concepts, including forces acting on an airplane, navigation, correct aircraft terminology, and general aviation vocabulary, are often part of a comprehensive fifth-grade aviation curriculum. But in one school district, students also learn about flying planes and even train in a flight simulator.

Girls in Science Rule!

Science and Children (April 2003)

This overnight camp for girls provided opportunities for outdoor adventures while building girls' science process skills and interest in science careers. Students participated in activities relating to ecology.
