Prepare for Science Fair
January 2000
Students use computers and the Internet to prepare, research, carry out, and present a science fair project. Students access a homepage designed by the teacher, which displays links that are useful in teaching the science fair process. Students also become proficient in conducting library research on their chosen topics.

To boost classroom morale after the science fair, one teacher decided to create an activity with interdisciplinary tie-ins. Using three possible titles to get students started: “Science Fair: The Experience”; “Science Fair: The Good, the Scary, the Fun”; and “Science Fair: It’s Not Just Science,” students were able to express their science fair experiences, both positive and negative, and in the process achieve a sense of closure.
