Kristin Mayer

Kristin Mayer is a high school science teacher in west Michigan and curator for the NGSS@NSTA hub. After teaching in New York City and Seattle she attended Michigan State University where she worked on her PhD in Curriculum Instruction and Teacher Education with a certification in science education. As part of this work, she helped write the Interactions Curriculum, a free online curriculum for high school physical science that was develop using NGSS PEs and principles from the National Research Council's Framework for K-12 Science Education. Her work focused on analyzing how students' models develop and changed during instruction and how students apply their models to new situations.
